Student Senate

The Student Senate is S.G.A.'s supreme legislative body.  It is composed of representatives from every major constituency on campus--residence halls, classes, schools and colleges, and the commuter population--some of which are elected in each of the spring and fall semester elections.

The Student Senate is responsible for discussing, debating, and voting on the various bills, proposals, and/or resolutions presented by any of its members or the Cabinet. The Senate also has the final say on all clubs under the S.G.A.'s purview, including the power to establish or dismantle such organizations, and the final authority on the allocation of all Student Activities Fees.

While the University is in session, meetings of the Student Senate convene at 6:00 p.m. every Tuesday in University Center, Rm 211-212. Except in extraordinary circumstances, these meetings are open to all members of Adelphi University (for observation only).
